Green Man redux

Raagnagrok Allstars in action.

Team Strange Attractor – Graham Harvey, Andy Letcher, Stephen Grasso and the Raagnagrok Allstars – had a great time at the Green Man, commandeering the cinema tent for a night of magic, mushrooms and music. We faced stiff competition from Battles, Vashti Bunyan and Robert Plant, but still managed to pack a decent crowd, including the inevitable befuddled hecklers and even one gent who had carried a negative review of Andy Letcher’s book all the way from Amazon.com to our tent in order to confront him with it. Bravo!

Stephen Grasso’s talk seguewayed into an epic, hour long set of gently swelling drones from the Raagnagrok Allstars, who were: Allison Bryce: dulcimer; Ben Goldacre: tweaked Speak and Spell; Howard Jacques: melodica & voice; Alyssa Joye: melodica; Zali Krishna: electric sitar; Andy Letcher: bagpipes & voice; Frances Morgan: voice & fx; Mark Pilkington: synths.

Although very wet, the Green Man was a joy to behold, the crisp mountain air filled with sounds, smells, glistening bubbles and glowing chinese lanterns. We’re already looking forward to next year!
